The Owners and Innkeepers of Reflections Inn:
Jim and Ruth May have owned and operated the Reflections Inn since 1995. They moved to Idaho in 1997, after Jim retired from over 30 years service as a teacher, counselor and public school administrator in Ohio.
After arriving in Idaho, Jim continued working as an educational consultant, an educationally-based not-for-profit executive director, and finally as a director of foundation development for a local health care/hospital system.
Ruth also held multiple careers; spending her early years as a airline flight attendant and flight attendant trainer with United Airlines, evolving into real estate sales and sales management, and ending her 20 years in real estate development as a consultant for large, planned residential golf course communities in Ohio.
Ruth first articulated the vision, that would eventually become "The Reflections Inn", in 1985! This vision that took a little over a decade to bring to fruition! That same vision is alive and well today in the form of the Reflections Inn. In their 17th year of operation, Jim and Ruth were awarded "Innkeepers of the Year for 2012" by the Idaho Bed and Breakfast Association.
Over the years, Ruth and Jim have come to recognize "Valued Work", work that is a deeply intimate and passionate expression of one's humanity and an outward symbol of one's growth as a human being. The Reflections Inn continues to be Ruth and Jim's "Valued Work", it remains a symbol of how they see themselves as human beings and how they value other people!
